Their knowledge, wisdom, insights and leadership have been fundamental in developing meaningful strategies, positive outcomes on the ground and delivering long term change. In particular, building upon local capabilities to strengthen civil society and promote local ownership &#8211; exemplified in ALT UK&#8217;s hand over to local Malagasy NGO&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.andrylalanatohana.org\/\">Andry Lalana Tohana Madagascar (ALT MG)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The last ten years, whilst no longer in the field, my work has been research based working in solidarity and collaboration with Malagasy civil society actors and environmental and human rights defenders, advocating the rights of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.andrewleestrust.org\/advocacy.html\">mine affected communities<\/a> in southern Madagascar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Andrew Lees Trust closed in 2025.
